Chemical Analysis
In contrary to sensory analysis, chemical analysis reveals the composition of the gas mixture.
We can use different sampling approaches from wet chemistry, solid absorbent to canister on the basis of the target compounds and analytical methods.
- Hydrogen sulfide and ammonia can be effectively collected in a liquid solution and analysed through wet chemistry method (through titration).
- Volatile Organic Compounds are collected into absorbent tubes, a canister or sampling bag and analysed by Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).
According to the purpose of the study, we will select the appropriate absorbent tubes, decide the sampling rate and duration, choose the location, then send the tubes to a third party laboratory to perform the analysis.
