Testing Room
Odour measurement demands a high standard of the odour testing room. The odour-free environment provides a sensory base line for panellists to perform their sensory assessment. The testing room maintains the appropriate temperature and humidity level for the comfort of the panellists. It is also essential that the mechanic ventilation can be operated to remove any residual smell should the situation arise.
EnvironOdour has built many odour testing laboratories around the world. In early 2016, a brand new odour testing laboratory opened in Mascot, a suburb 2km from Sydney Airport. The testing room has been designed according to the sensory analysis standard (ISO 8589:2007(E), Sensory analysis - General guidance for the design of test rooms). This laboratory showcases the olfactometry testing facility as well as carry out routine odour testing for our clients in Australia.
The state-of-the-art odour testing facility uses porcelain tiles throughout the entire office to eliminate one of the potential odour sources in the building. The ducted air conditioning system provides air circulation and an approximate exchange rate. The system replenishes the room with filtered air to ensure a positive pressure in the testing environment. This prevents unwanted air to enter into the testing environment. Furthermore, a mechanic ventilation system has also been installed and can also be operated if required.
